Simply click on the hotel chain for an expansive list of corporate rate codes that will yield savings and upgrades. Things that can impact which corporate rates to use include:
Location: City & Country
Rates will vary by location. Also, check what companies are headquartered in the city or country that you are traveling. For example if you are staying in Atlanta, be sure to check out Coca-Cola’s rate. Going to Minneapolis, check the 3M rate, etc.
Brand: Courtyard, Springhill, Ritz Carlton, Etc.
Different companies will have different rates depending on the brand of hotel. For example IBM might have a better rate for Courtyards while SAP has a better rate for Springhill Suites. Don’t assume one company has the best rates across all brands, they don’t.
Extras: Breakfast, Parking, Lounge
This is extremely important if you are on a tight budget. Some companies will negotiate things like executive floor access in to their rate, especially internationally. This will provide you access to the lounge where you can get free breakfast, dinner, and drinks. Even if the rate is a bit higher it can be worth it for the amount of money you save on food & drink expenses. Parking is another high expense item that can be forgot especially if staying downtown.
Room Type: Double, King, Suite
Another overlooked aspect can be the room type. Some companies will offer discounted rates on suite rooms as well as single guest rooms. If you are traveling with more than one person (or couple) typically the suite rate will be lower than 2 separate guest rooms. Throw someone on the sleeper sofa and share the bathroom if you’re looking to save money.
